Family Photos at Shakespeare Garden in Golden Gate Park | San Francisco
One of my favorite places to take family photos in San Francisco is at Shakespeare Garden in Golden Gate Park. It’s a small and unassuming garden but it’s filled with greenery and flowers and it makes such a pretty backdrop for photos. It was dedicated in 1928 and is meant to pay homage to the flowers mentioned in Shakespeares plays. The trees filter the light which makes for soft tones and really pretty colors. It also allows a little more flexibility with the timing of photos which is helpful for young kids who have early bedtimes or stricter schedules. This is one of the easier locations for family photos in my opinion because parking isn’t too difficult and it’s a small garden so very little walking is required. It’s also somewhat shaded from the elements so can be a better location on a windy day and is still beautiful even if it’s cloudy or foggy. I really love taking photos here and always recommend it when sending location options to clients. Here are some photos of a recent family session at this beautiful garden.
